Abstract

Diversity of ethnicities, religions, races, cultures, and social backgrounds characterizes the social reality of a pluralistic society. Amidst this diversity, people still frequently engage in prejudice and discrimination, which have the potential to lead to conflict and social division. This study aims to describe the role of Christian Religious Education (PAK) in addressing prejudice and discrimination using a transformational approach in a diverse society. The method used in this study is descriptive with a library research approach that draws references from a number of books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant academic documents. The findings of this study indicate that prejudice and discrimination are influenced by stereotypes, a lack of understanding of diversity, and minimal positive interactions between different groups. Christian Religious Education strategically instills the values of love, tolerance, justice, respect for human dignity, and an inclusive attitude. Through a transformational approach, educators and the learning process encourage students to develop critical awareness, empathy, dialogue, and openness to differences, enabling them to build harmonious social relationships. Christian religious education not only shapes faith and character but also effectively transforms society by reducing prejudice and discrimination. Furthermore, it fosters a peaceful, just, and harmonious community amidst diversity.
